Intensive In-Home (IIH)

When a mental health crisis strikes, you need immediate and effective support. Our Intensive
In-Home (IIH) program brings that support directly to your doorstep, providing comprehensive
care and stabilization in the familiar surroundings of your own home.
Our dedicated team of mental health professionals is committed to:
- Providing rapid crisis intervention and stabilization.
- Reducing the need for hospitalization or out-of-home placement.
- Developing personalized treatment plans to address your unique needs.
- Teaching coping skills and strategies for managing mental health challenges.

Who can benefit from Intensive In-Home (IIHS) services?
- Individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis.
- Those at high risk of psychiatric hospitalization.
- Families needing support to manage a loved one’s mental health crisis.
- Anyone requiring intensive, short-term mental health services in their home environment.
Intensive In-Home (IIHS) services for children and adolescents
This type of service is typically offered to children and adolescents at risk of out-of-home
placement due to mental health challenges, behavioral issues, or functional impairments.
- Youth must demonstrate a clinical necessity for these services, often linked to a
diagnosis of a mental, behavioral, or emotional illness. This can include difficuly
establishing or maintaining, exhibiting in inappropriate behaviors, or having cognitive
difficulties.
- Children may struggle to establish or maintain relationships, leading to conflict and
potential placement outside the home.
- Challenges with recognizing danger or understanding social cues also increase the risk
of out-of-home placement.
- Intensive in-home services may be needed when a child's behavior is significantly
impacting the family environment and potentially leading to out-of-home placement.
- IIHS are often provided to individuals who are at risk of being removed from their home
due to mental health or behavioral concerns. Also to individuals transitioning back to
their home (bilogical or foster) from an out-of-home placement.
- Family members, including parens or responsible adults, must be willing to actively
participate in the program in the at risk of out-of-home placement.
